Lyrics
Late at night I sit at home and think of where you are right now
I know that you’re with someone else, I almost want to cry aloud
Does he appreciate your love the way I would appreciate you?
Is there no hope someday you will be all mine?

I really don’t think things should be like this
I hope someday things won’t be this way
I know I shouldn’t try to steal your heart
But it beats the hell out of being apart
I hope someday that you’ll understand

When we met you were just another little girl to me
But then I went and slowly fell in love with you which turned to tragedy
Then you went and got engaged to him
Which put me in a rage inside
I wish there was someway I could tell you how I feel

I really don’t think things should be like this
I hope someday things won’t be this way
I know I shouldn’t try to steal your heart
But it beats the hell out of being apart
I hope someday that you’ll understand
Understand what you mean to me and what me and you could someday be
I guess it’s all in the hands of our destiny

Now I stand alone again hoping that you find me, friend
You can say I can rock but that’s not all I can do
I also have a special talent for loving you

When we met you were just another little girl to me
But then I went and slowly fell in love with you which turned to tragedy
Then you went and got engaged to him
Which put me in a rage inside
I wish there was someway I could tell you how I feel
Late at night I sit at home and think of where you are right now
I know that you’re with someone else, I almost want to cry aloud
Does he appreciate your love the way I would appreciate you?
Is there no way someday you may be all mine?

I don’t think things should be this way
I don’t think things should be this way
I don’t think things should be this way

Lyrics
Just need someone to hold and please me
Not touch and tease me, that’s all I want
Need some woman to Love and squeeze me
Never release me, that’s all I need

Abga Aba you’re my only hope, Abga Aba you’re my only friend
Always faithful, always treat me right
Abga Aba right until the end

Just need someone to understand me
Don’t reprimand me, my words are true
Need some woman to sweep away the gloom
With her magic broom, that’s all I need

Abga Aba you’re my only hope, Abga Aba you’re my only friend
Always faithful, always treat me right
Abga Aba right until the end

Now it’s the evening of day two and the locks on the doors are loose
And the pastures are turning blue
I can feel yo trying to break through
Don’t compromise, don’t spit out lies
Those shattered dreams will revitalize
But the alarms begin to sound and the guards begin to search the grounds
Someone heard a foreign sound, hurry before they track us down
But I don’t know which way to go
My heart says “yes”, my head says “no”
Should I jump into the bottomless hole?
My heart says “yes”, my head says “no”

Abga Aba you’re my only hope, Abga Aba you’re my only friend
Always faithful, always treat me right
Abga Aba right until the end

Analysis: A very theatrical tune that may be a bit uneven and melodramatic, but still something well worth preserving.

Lyrics
Tell ya ’bout my lady, well she looks so fine
Although her image is shady she won’t cross the line
With all her southern delights and northern comfort at night

It’s still hard believe that I can’t release
That precious gift from the time
That precious gift in my mind
Still I’m holding right on until the nitty gritty end, now

And on the edge of that night, I’ll take my step into flight
Am I this crazy to stay?

Was it the golden way your face glowed or the life you choose?
Or just another snowy day in April when I found you?
I found you, I found you

And on the edge of that night, I’ll take my step into flight
Am I so crazy to stay? Was it all planned out that way?

Is it the mystic way about you that attracts me?
Is it the love hidden deep inside you that most can’t see?
Is the sacred love forever, that pulled me through?
Or just another snowy day in April when I found you?
When I found you, when I found you, I found you

Analysis: A sort of hybrid betweenmy best attempt at blues and some type of hard rock. Not fantastic, but a somewhat interesting listen.

Got to Abide By the Rules If You Want to Play

Lyrics
Feeling a conscious, making a stand
Doing what it takes to become a man
Keeping my own, holding off tears
Wasting away the most magic of years

I should have quiet, that’s what they say
You’ve got to abide by the rules if you want to play

Making a strong comeback, not quite as bitter
I could be a Veggie, but I’m not a quitter
Finding a throne halfway up a ladder
But no one here roams, so what does it matter

I should have quiet, that’s what they say
You’ve got to abide by the rules if you want to play

Losing my love for the thirty-sixth time
She’s not yet quite ready to join in my clan
Keeping feet on the ground, reaching for stars
Wasting our oxygen playing guitars

I should have quiet, that’s what they say
You’ve got to abide by the rules if you want to play

Searching long through time and space
For love and peace and help to make things right

Keeping feet on the ground, reaching for stars
Wasting our oxygen playing guitars
Finding a throne halfway up a ladder
But no one here roams, so what does it matter

I should have quiet, that’s what they say
You’ve got to abide by the rules if you want to play

Analysis: I wrote and recorded this song the day before leaving for audio tech school in Ohio and it reflects the melancholy mood of leaving behind the life, friends, and girl who I would not see again. It is a simple harpsichord song with simple drum beat put together spontaneously and beautifully.

Disagree

Track 18  On  The Evolution of Noise  By  Wahray and Soul

Written by Ric Albano Song Length: 4:15
Listen to the Song:
[audio:WAS/27-Disagree.mp3]
1989
Lyrics
I say three and one and four and eight plus one is seventeen
You say three times four plus five instead just to try and disagree
You say I’m the one who makes you sad by treating you so cold
I say you’re the one that makes me mad by strutting out so bold

But when it seems that everything’s gone
Then I fall back in love with you
If I treat you so cold and you treat me so bold
It would take our two souls to just rise, rise, rise!
But we’d still disagree

I say someone, somewhere has got to change your narrow mind
You say life is fine the way it is, I say you must be blind

But when it seems that everything’s wrong
Somehow we two pull through
If I think that you’re blind, you don’t think I’m too kind
If we’d just change our minds then we’ll go, go, go!
But we’d still disagree

But when it seems that everything’s gone
Then I fall back in love with you
If I treat you so cold, then you’ll treat me so bold
It would take our two souls to just rise, rise, rise and shine
Rise, rise, rise and shine, rise, rise, rise and shine, rise

I say someone, somewhere has got to change your narrow mind
You say life is fine the way it is, I say you must be blind
You say me and you could never be because it’s not your style
I say me and you have got to be because I love your smile

But when it seems every drop of blood in my bones has gone to rest
You give me a smile, against your own style
You take me away from this place until we

Get back to being ourselves and we disagree
Get back to being ourselves and we disagree
Disagree, yeah when we disagree now

Get back to being ourselves and we disagree
Get back to being ourselves and we disagree
Disagree, disagree now

Analysis: This bass-led song has a strong classic rock vibe with nice movement, changes, and drum rolls. The lyrics are full of riddle-esque wordplay, which makes the song a fun rap.
